William Banana tree (AAA), a subgroup of the Dwarf Cavendish (also known as Chinese Cavendish, Williams Hybrid, or Giant Cavendish), made its debut in Perth, Australia, in 1950.

This tall mutant of the Dwarf Cavendish can reach heights of 2.7 to 3 meters. Renowned for its sweeter taste compared to regular Cavendish bananas, the Williams variety boasts a more robust flavour profile. While less common in commercial markets, Williams banana trees are cherished in certain Perth regions for their unique sweeter taste and size differentiation (slightly bigger compared to Dwarf Cavendish).
